2008 Headlines:
November 2nd: The Old Mack Does It Again.
Members brought E-121 (aka the Old Mack) to the Webbies Pizza Halloween Car Show in Chalfont on Sunday.
The truck was a hit with the crowd, as numerous people asked questions and looked with fine detail. At the end of the Day,
Newportville Fire Company was announced yet again during an Awards Ceremony, the Trophy being for Best Appearing Truck. This
brings the Count to 5 Trophies brought home in the last few weeks.
October 19th: Phila FD Muster
Members attended the Philadelphia Fire Department Muster with E-12 and
E-121. This event was a fun filled day with apparatus from the entire region. At the End of the day NFC came home with 2 trophies,
1st Place Rescue/Pumper for E-12, and 2nd Place Fire Dept owned Antique 1941-1950. This Became a 4 Trophy Weekend for the
NFC.
October
18th: Union Station 37 Open House
Newportville Volunteers attended the Open House/ Fire Apparatus Muster for the Union Fire Company, and Gibson Road
Antique Fire Association. E-12, E-121 and R-12 were on display. R-12 was featured all of the tools out on the ground. At the
end of the day, we brought home 2 trophies, 2nd Place Antique for E-121 and 2nd Place Modern for R-12.
October 16th: Rescue 12 Assists with Lighting.
Rescue 12 was requested by the Truman High School to assist with lighting,
for the annual Home Coming Event. After a short parade, the Rescue 12 along with Rescue 53 set thier light towers up to light
the field. A huge bonfire and fireworks topped off the night.
October 12th: Annual Fire Prevention Open House:
Newportville Fire Company held its annual Fire Prevention Open House
on Sunday October 12th. The day was full of different activities for everyone. The event of the day included a fire
safety smoke house, fire-engine rides, a flame house and other demonstrations. About 600 people attended the event through
out the day. Thanks to all of the guest companies for coming a participating in the event. (Click on the

October 11th: Full Turnout to Sta 25 and 44
Sations 12 and 82 showed Company Pride by manning all of the units to
go a parade and housing for the new Ladder 25 in Bristol Pa. Once the services were over, we attended Newport Station 44 for
thier Fire Prevention Open House.
October 10th: E-82 Attends Sta 10 Open House
October 5th 2008: Members Attend Blue Mass in Bristol
On Sunday morning Firefighters From the Newportville Fire Company attended
the 6th Annual Blue Mass, held at the St. Mark Church in Bristol Boro. This mass is held every year from members of all the
Emergency Services in the area, as a big Thank You for our service.

9-24-2008: Working Dwelling FIre
Station 12 was dispatched with the William Penn Fire Company, for a reported dwelling fire at in the Snowball Gate
section of Middletown. C-8 went on scene with a 2-story dwelling with Heavy Fire Showing. Crews went in service with an aggressive
attack and were able to stop the fire from extending to the rest of the house. E-12 and E 82 crews assisted in placement of
ground ladders and ventilation and as did R-12s crew, while the Chief and R-12s Chauffeur filled SCBA Bottle's.

During the last few months the Volunteers at the Newportville
Fire Company have been busy with many different Emergencies. Also many different activities have taken place on the grounds,
Community Day being the biggest event.
At this time The Newportville Fire Company would like to thank All of our Sponsors who continue to show their support in us. Thanks for all of the

E-12 Attends Pump
Primers Muster in Harrisburg.
On Saturday July 12th, a few
members took E-12 to the Pa Pump Primers Muster, held on the Susquehanna Riverfront in Harrisburg. We pumped an amazing 2300gpm
through numerous deluge guns and handlines. Many people looked on, as we put on a great show. We also received many compliments

6/24/2008: Engine and Rescue Respond to All hands dwelling in Croydon
In the early morning hours a
dwelling fire was dispatched for 1107 First Avenue in Croydon. This was the site of two prior fires. Chief 11 went on scene
with a dwelling fully involved with an exposure problem. Rescue 12 and Engine 12 responded with 10 volunteers. The crews did
various tasks on the fireground and E-12 Chauffeur assisted E 11-1 by supplying him with tank water. (Photos By: Bucks County

6/9/2008: Trailer Fire
E-82 was dispatched for a local in Station 14s local for
a Trailer Fire. FM-225 went on location with an Event Trailer fully involved and directed E-82 to drop in and go in service.
E-82 had numerous lines in service. The trailer had to be taken apart with a Back-Hoe to completely extinguish the fire. (Photos

5/21/2008: Vehicle Rescue drill:
The crews of NFC drilled on a donated car with the new tools off of the Engines. Both E-12 and E-82 now
carry rescue tools. This will help us in providing rescue coverage to our area. Thank You to Ben Ketterer for his donation

5-5-08: The Officers
and Members of the Newportville Fire Company would like to send our condolences to the family of Philadelphia Police Sgt.
Stephen Liczbinski, who was killed in the line of duty on Saturday May 3rd 2008. And to Marty Liczbinski Sr and
family, Marty is Stephens brother, and a firefighter here at Newportville Fire Company.
4-30-08: Newportville Volunteers Scoop Ice Cream for the
National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Fund
The bravest of Newportville scooped over 600 scoops of Ice
Cream, with all the proceeds going towards the Familys of firefighters who have passed in the Line Of Duty.

First Due Job, Avalon Court Apartments
Engineer 12 on scene reporting a working fire on the ground
level of building 400. E-14 arrived dropped in and went in service with a 1 3/4" line. E-82 took E-14s hydrant. E-12 proceeded
to Side-A and assisted E-14s crew.

Rescue 12 assists
Croydon on Fully Involved House
R-12 was dispatched for a house fire on 1st Avenue
with Croydon Fire Company, Station 11. Chief 11 went on scene with a house fully involved and directed all units to go in
service with the heaviest of water lines. R-12 crew manned a 2 1/2" line on Side C of the fire building.

2007 HEADLINES:
11-25-07
Tactical box 82-2 was transmitted. Initial dispatch reported a working fire with multiple calls. Captain
82 on scene a minute after dispatch reporting a 2 story S/F/D heavy fire showing sides B and C. Chief 13 on scene
set up command. First in engine (Engine 12) went in service initially with a deck gun, then went into service with a 2 1/2
inch handline, crews from Special Service 13 pulled the second handline, Crews could not make access to the fire area
of the house due to a excessive amount of "clutter". Additional lines were pulled off of Engine 82 with crews
from Engine 82 and 77 going in service on side B making a good attack on the bulk of the fire. Crews eventually made
access inside and went in service one the first and second floors. Ladder 14 was in service on the roof. On scene
were : Engine companies 12, 82, 13, 14, 77 Ladder Company 14, Rescue Companies 12 & 8, Special Service 13, and Medic 143

10-28-07 Former Engine
12, the 1992 KME has been sold. She was loaded on a Flatbed Trailer and is on her way to Missouri. She will be missed

The last few weeks here
at Newportville Fire Company have been really busy. We have had a few auto extrications, a couple working structure fires
with Croydon, Newport, and Hulmeville, and numerous other calls.
Also the Volunteers here
have spent many hours Teaching Students at our Local Schools Fire Prevention and Safety during Fire Prevention Week. During
this week the Firefighters also were present at other local stations Open Houses. We attended, Croydon, Third District, Edgely
and Union of Cornwells Fire Companies Open Houses.

Bills Take Out
Our volunteers spent many
hours preparing for this years Open House. During the day our community was able to see Pennstar land their helicopter, look
at the fire equipment on display, go on a firetruck ride, and many other activities.

8-5-07: Rescue 12 Assists Station 8
DC8 on scene with heavy smoke showing from a 2 story dwelling, C8 arrived with visible fire
from the 2nd floor side D and established command. R9 was added for RIT. L8 on scene and went in service with 2" hand line
to the second floor and raised the main ladder to the roof. E77-1 reversed out from L8 and their crew pulled a back up line
interior, E8 laddered and vented the dwelling, R9 arrived and assisted E8 and L8. R45 was added for RIT and the Box was filled
out. R8 arrived set up for air cascade and E21s crew pulled a 3rd 2" line to the interior. L 65 went to the roof and
interior assisting. Due to water supply problems E8 and E21 gave L8 tank water and E9 was told to drop a 2nd 5" line from
Durham rd. E77 picked up 9s lay, however this line was never charged. Due to extensive overhaul and weather conditions the
task force TL14, R12 and E44 were called into the scene along with MCI 4. 168's provided rehab and medical standby. The fire
was placed under control in 1 ho ur. FM244-3 is investigating.

6-9-07: Bristol Township Saftey Day. All the Bristol Township Emergency Services, along with Amtrak Safety
and The Bucks County Command Post joined together for a day to explain to our community what we do.
Firefighters scoop Ice Cream for the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Fund.
4-27-07: We were invited to the Maple Shade Elementary School, for a Fire Prevention Detail for the 4th
grade class. After the students took a tour of E-12, the firefighters were invited inside for some Q&A. While Firefighter
Henry put his turnout gear on for the Class, Firefighter DeAngelis answered questions. Captian Hardy and Fire Police Officer
Alstadtt were also there to hand out Fire Prevention Materials.
